🃏 Blackjack Rules

Goal: get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over ("busting"). Number cards = face value. J, Q, K = 10. Ace = 11 or 1 (whichever helps more).

• Blackjack (Ace + 10-value on first 2 cards): pays 3:2 — beats dealer's 21
• Hit: Take another card
• Stand: Keep your hand, dealer plays
• Double Down: Double your bet, receive exactly one more card
• Dealer rules: Must hit on 16 or less (including soft 16), must stand on 17+
• Bust: Going over 21 = instant loss
• Push: Tie with dealer = bet returned

💡 Basic Strategy Tips

• Always stand on 17+ (hard total)
• Always hit on 8 or less
• Double down on 10 or 11 vs dealer 2–9
• Never take insurance (bad bet)
• Stand on 12–16 when dealer shows 2–6 (dealer likely to bust)
• Hit on 12–16 when dealer shows 7–Ace
